eBay has redefined the auction model by infusing digital commerce with the power of data-informed retail. At its headquarters, ESI translated the vast streams of data eBay generates daily into a cohesive, immersive media experience. The result: a playful yet purposeful storytelling environment that showcases the company’s global scale, innovative spirit, and ongoing evolution in the digital marketplace.
At the front door of eBay’s headquarters, a multi-surface media experience features live, generative statistics from eBay’s product transactions integrated with content that shows how eBay’s community impacts the marketplace and charitable giving.

In addition, a showcase space, Digital Bay, acts as an immersive environment for eBay products and services using bespoke storytelling, projection technology and physically moving screens. This digital showroom illuminates “day in the life” of diverse eBay consumer personas through complex purchase scenarios. This guided simulation leads visitors on a journey to multiple locations to demonstrate how eBay products connect buyers to sellers.
ESI took eBay’s data and turned it into a story about the vastness of eBay as a global community, and really brought that to life in a special way.

Throughout eBay’s headquarters and showcase space, data merges with narratives to illustrate how the company helps inform its diverse community.
